Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football has hit many big field goals throughout his career as a place kicker, and plans on hitting many more as he vies for the starting kicking job with the Eastern Washington University Eagles this coming season.

An accomplished place kicker for Cathedral Catholic High School, a San Diego institution known for being a competitive and successful football powerhouse, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football has made an impression on countless coaches and players throughout his career. Having trained with The Kicking System, or TKS, for over five years, he has enjoyed the opportunity to transform his natural kicking ability into something viable; a talent that can be harnessed by a competitive football squad and transformed into a competitive edge. 

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football is no stranger to hitting long field goals, and hopes to make an excellent addition to the EWU starting football program this coming fall. He has worked hard his entire career to improve his technique and increase his kicking distance, and hopes to translate his skill into what promises to be a successful collegiate athletic career.

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football practices and trains hard to be the best, most effective kicker possible. He believes in the power of hard work, and has stuck to hard work and disciplined training throughout his career in order to properly hone and fine-tune his ability. Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football maintains the same drive and focus that have put him in the position he is today.

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football: The Thrill of Competition



Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football has always had the intense focus and drive of a fierce competitor, as well as the will to give everything he has both on and off the field. Achieving victory as the member of a team is an immense thrill for Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football, who looks forward to many more opportunities for victory as a member of the EWU Eagles football program.

A native of San Diego California, as well as an alum of local football powerhouse Cathedral Catholic High School, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football is a consistent and talented young place kicker, now in pursuit of a starting position on the EWU squad during the upcoming season. During his playing days in high school, he was known for his accuracy, and for his ability to get good height and distance on his kicks. Regarded as a talented kicker by many who have played with and coached him, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football promises to have a long and bright athletic career, one that may lead to many future opportunities.

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football appreciates the thrill of any high-level competition, as well as the opportunity to run out onto the field with his teammates as they prepare to take on another difficult opponent. Accomplished in both extra points and in field goals, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football continues to display the kicking ability and the will to win that have afforded him the opportunity to vie for the current EWU starting job.

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football: Kicking Excellence



Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football began his football, and kicking career, in earnest at the Cathedral Catholic High School in 2010. He has since committed to the Eastern Washington University Eagles, a Big Sky Conference football team that has gladly accepted Fanning into its ranks, acknowledging both his skill and his prowess as a place kicker.

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football is a talented and accomplished place kicker, regarded by many of both his past and present coaches as a consistent and accurate kicker. He has received numerous accolades from both his teammates and his coaches in the past, and continues to pursue a collegiate career, hone his skill and increase his overall distance. 

His high school football program, or Cathedral Catholic, is known as a highly competitive football powerhouse in the world of San Diego prep sports. As a part of the Cathedral Catholic team, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football stood out, consistently making long distance field goals and helping his team maintain its competitive edge in the San Diego high school athletic community. He earned All-Eastern League Honors as a Senior at Cathedral Catholic, an honor he remains proud of to this day. 

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football also accomplished much off the high school football field, winning the TKS Combine High School Field Goal Competition in 2012.  He is also proud to have placed second at the Colorado State University Football Camp, where he received invaluable instruction and coaching. Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football looks forward to many accomplishments in the future.

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football: A Well-Rounded Individual



Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football has experienced a great deal of success as the kicker for the Eastern Washington University Eagles, though it’s his experiences off the field that have helped to shape him into the well-rounded individual he is today.

As a seventh grader, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football chose to be involved in the Teen Volunteers in Action, or TVIA, organization, a local San Diego group designed to provide young teens the opportunity to be more active and involved in their local community. As a TIVA volunteer, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football became involved in efforts to help the less fortunate of his local community. He enjoyed the opportunity to work with local food banks, the physically and emotionally handicapped, multiple park and beach cleanup efforts and much more. Through TVIA, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football was able to experience the rewards of community involvement, and to learn the value, and the importance, of being an active community volunteer.

Through his involvement in TVIA, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football was able to recognize the need for volunteers throughout the community, and to develop into the valued community leader he is today. By working with fellow volunteers and making a real and lasting impact in people’s lives, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football became a more responsible and active member of the San Diego community. His contributions, which were numerous, proved to be an integral part of the organization’s success, and helped show many throughout the community that people were available to lend a helping hand.

Christian Fanning Eastern Washington Football: Helping a Teammate



Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football is as competitive as the next player, but he is always willing to help out a teammate. Even if the teammate is a girl.

As a star kicker on the Cathedral Catholic High School Football team, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football led the team to a 12-1 season as a junior, the same year he was named a San Diego Section Player of the Week. As a senior he kicked a fifty-one yard field goal, his longest that season, and also made three-pointers from forty-five and forty-three yards.

A player named Dana Dalton broke new ground when she became the first female player to join the Cathedral Catholic football team. She was already a soccer star, and the Cathedral Catholic football players said she they were impressed with her kicking ability. When asked, she said her family was giving her a lot of support as she began playing football, then added, "Christian Fanning [has] been helping me a lot, too."

Today, Christian Fanning of EasternWashington Football is vying for a starting spot on the Eastern Washington University Eagles. He is entering his second year with the team. The Eagles have won two straight Big Sky Conference titles and been to two consecutive appearances in the FCS semifinals. Football analysts are already picking the Eagles to do it again, and Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football is confident he can make a significant contribution to the team's fortunes. "I like competition," he says, "and thrive when under pressure."

Christian Fanning Eastern Washington Football: Teen Volunteers In Action



Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football is turning into a leader on and off the gridiron, and he has learned the importance of being a contributing member of his community.

Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football is working hard to become the starting kicker for the EWU Eagles. He has been a strong kicker through youth football programs and on into high school, where he was the star kicker for the Cathedral Catholic Dons. He was thrilled to be recruited by the Eastern Washington University football program.

From the seventh through the twelfth grades, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football was involved with a philanthropic group called Teen Volunteers in Action, a San Diego organization whose purpose was and is exclusively educational and charitable. Through the TVIA, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football got involved in numerous community causes, including serving the homeless, distributing and sorting food at local food banks, working with physically and emotionally handicapped people, taking part in neighborhood cleanups, and working with foster care youth, refugees, and seniors. When he was in the eighth grade, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football got involved in the TVIA's Leadership Council and stayed with it through the twelfth grade.

Additionally, Christian of Eastern Washington Football has donated his time to the Corazon de Vida Foundation in Mexico. He has worked at an orphanage and brought needed supplies to the residents. He has helped entertain the children there, and was part of a "building a home in a day" project for a needy, homeless family in Mexico.

Christian Fanning Eastern Washington Football: A Very Solid Kicker



Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football thinks they can do it again. 

As the Eastern Washington University Eagles football team head into a new season, they are coming off two consecutive Big Sky Conference titles, and have been picked by three national magazines to win the conference again. Head Coach Beau Baldwin will open practice for the team on July 31, with the season opener less than one month after that on August 23 against Sam Houston State. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Christian Fanning of Eastern WashingtonFootball is hoping to win a starting spot on the Eagles' roster. He is an outstanding placekicker who starred with the Cathedral Catholic High School team in San Diego for four years. During that time he was named the San Diego Section Player of the Week. He was The Kicking System's Combine High School Field Goal winner, and also placed second in kickoffs at Colorado State University Kicking Camp.

"Christian is a very solid kicker," one of his former coaches declared. "He gets the ball up quickly and has excellent height on his kicks."

He has always been a powerful kicker. As the kicker at Cathedral Catholic, Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington Football earned first team All-Eastern League honors in 2012. During his senior season he made 8-of-11 field goal attempts and also converted 37-of-40 point after touchdown attempts. His longest field goal was for fifty-one yards, but he also had successful field goals of 45 and 43 yards.
