Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington
Football is excited about the chances of the Eastern Washington University
Eagles as they head into the new college football season. The team is the top
pick in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision by three national
publications, including The Sporting News.
The 2014 season is Christian Fanning of
Eastern Washington Football's second year as an Eagle. His goal is to be the
team's first-string kicker, and based on his record he has an excellent chance
of realizing that goal. "Christian is a very solid kicker," said one
of his former coaches. "He gets the ball up quickly and has excellent
height on his kicks...Strong kickoffs."

Football has a great chance to be seen by a national television audience this
season. The Eagles' opener against Sam Houston State will be carried by ESPN,
and the Root Sports Network will be carrying four Eastern Washington University
football games.
As Christian Fanning of Eastern Washington
Football knows only too well, the Eagles are coming off two straight Big Sky
Conference titles. They have appeared in the FCS semifinals for the last two
years, and have three All-American players returning for another year,
including quarterback Vernon Adams.
Eastern Washington University Head Coach
Beau Baldwin says it's a compliment to be ranked so highly before the season
begins, but he doesn't want to make too much of it. Like any coach, you're more
concerned with the postseason," he says, "and that's definitely the
case with us."
